  • Sanjiv Goenka, LSG Mulling Over First Sacking After IPL 2025 Failure. It Is Not Rs 27 Crore Rishabh Pant

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) equalled their worst finish in an Indian Premier League season as they ended up in seventh spot under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant in IPL 2025. LSG failed to find consistency, showing only flashes of brilliance in a stop-start season, despite their heavy investment of Rs 27 crore for Pant at the auction. However, as per reports, the first person set to face the heat for the poor showing is not Pant or LSG head coach Justin Langer, but LSG mentor and former India pace great Zaheer Khan.As per a report by Cricbuzz, the Lucknow Super Giants management, headed by owner Sanjiv Goenka, isn’t particularly pleased with the way IPL 2025 shaped out for the team.

The report further states that more pressure is on Zaheer, who was roped in as mentor ahead of the season on a one-year contract.

LSG managed just six wins in their 14 matches, with Rishabh Pant enduring a disastrous season up until the final match of the campaign.

The report further says that whether Zaheer will get his contract renewed is still up in the air, and that sources feel that it is unlikely to happen.

Despite wholesale changes ahead of the mega auction, which saw LSG part ways with their original captain KL Rahul, the franchise failed to improve their showing from the previous season, instead finishing with one less win.Throughout the season, LSG captain Rishabh Pant also cut an unhappy figure on several occasions during matches, often losing his cool, both while captaining on the field and in the dugout. On one occasion, he was seen having an animated chat with Zaheer, in a match where he came out to bat at No. 7.

The report states that there is discontent around Zaheer’s mentorship as he had played a crucial role in shaping the team’s approach, but failed to yield results.

Expectations were high at LSG following their decision to splash out Rs 27 crore for Pant at the auction. However, Pant had arguably his worst-ever season with the bat. Pant managed only 269 runs in 14 matches, with 118 of them coming in their inconsequential final league game.Drama higher up in the hierarchy is not uncommon at LSG, with KL Rahul and the franchise splitting on unceremonious terms following IPL 2025.

Zaheer may have also played a crucial role in LSG building an all-Indian bowling attack, which flattered to deceive. Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Akash Deep set the franchise back by a total of Rs 23 crore, but played only eight matches combined.

Yuzvendra Chahal was one of the star performers for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025. The costliest spinner in IPL history, who was picked by PBKS for Rs 18 crore at the auction, picked 16 wickets in 13 innings which included two four-wicket hauls. While Virat (43 in 35 balls, with three fours) tried to keep the innings together, skipper Rajat Patidar (26 in 16 balls, with a four and two sixes), Jitesh Sharma (24 in 10 balls, with two fours and two sixes) and Liam Livingstone (25 in 15 balls, with two fours) upped the attack enough to help RCB post 190/9 in 20 overs.

In the run-chase, PBKS started well with Priyansh Arya (24 in 19 balls, with four boundaries) and Prabhsimran (26 in 22 balls, with two sixes) stitching a 43-run stand.

Josh Inglis (39 in 23 balls, with a four and four sixes) and Shashank Singh (61* in 30 balls, three wins and six sixes) tried their level best to keep up with the rising run rate, but Krunal Pandya (2/17), Yash Dayal (1/18) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38) put a fine show with the ball to restrict PBKS to 184/7, despite a sensational 22 runs smashed by Shashank in the final over while needing 29.Krunal Pandya was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.Krunal Pandya was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.

  • Hyderabad Student Faces Unexpected Technical Questions In US Visa Interview: “I Was Surprised”

A US F-1 student visa applicant had a surprising experience during an interview at the Hyderabad Consulate. After answering standard questions about education and university choices, the consular officer unexpectedly launched into a series of technical questions. Despite the applicant’s calm and clear responses, the officer denied the visa, advising him to reapply. Seeking insight into what went wrong, the applicant shared his story on Reddit to gather feedback and advice.

“I had my F1 visa interview today (May 30, 2025) at the Hyderabad Consulate, India. He is a white male VO in his 30s. Unfortunately, I was rejected under section 214(b). I’m sharing my experience to get your feedback on what might have gone wrong and how I can improve for the next attempt,” he wrote on Reddit.

The student said that his visa interview began typically, with questions about his studies and university applications. However, the officer’s tone shifted when he started asking unexpected technical questions. The student was asked about the differences between an array and a linked list, as well as linear regression. Despite answering confidently, the officer denied his F-1 visa under Section 214(b) after inquiring about his chosen university, Indiana University Bloomington, and its specialisations in data science.I was surprised by the level of technical questions asked. I tried to stay calm and answer everything honestly, but I’m still not sure what went wrong—whether it was something in my answers, my university choices, or how I explained my project. If anyone has gone through something similar or has suggestions for improving in my next attempt, I would be really grateful for your insights,” the student added.

Some Reddit users shared similar experiences with unusual visa interview questions. One user reported a 15-second interview where the officer spent most of the time typing on the computer, while another had a straightforward conversation about their fiancé’s work and wedding plans.

One user wrote, “Wait whattt This has kind of got me bumfuzzled I mean why would he ask such questions.”

  • How ‘Madam N’ Lured Indian Social Media Influencers To Spy For Pakistan

Working under Pakistan’s espionage agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the businesswoman Noshaba Shehzad helped Indian social media influencers and many others to visit Pakistan, sources saidA businesswoman who runs a ‘travel agency’ in Pakistan’s Lahore has been identified as the person who helped Indian social media influencers travel to her country and set the groundwork for using them as spies, sources have said.

Working under Pakistan’s espionage agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the businesswoman Noshaba Shehzad who runs the Lahore-based company ‘Jaiyana Travel and Tourism’, helped Indian social media influencers like Jyoti Malhotra – who was arrested recently – and many others to visit Pakistan, sources said.

Known by the codename ‘Madam N’ by the ISI, Ms Shehzad came into the picture during interrogation of arrested social media influencers in India, sources said, adding she had been working to set up a massive sleeper cell network of at least 500 spies who can hide in plain sight across India.Ms Shehzad’s husband is a retired officer of the Pakistani civil services. The Pakistani Army and the ISI sent her instructions on how to set up the sleeper cell network in India, sources said.Ms Shehzad’s influence reached the visa department of the Pakistani embassy in Delhi. She had been in touch with the First Secretary (visa) Suhail Qamar and Counsellor (trade) Umar Sheryar, which meant that whoever she wanted would get a Pakistani visa immediately, “with a single phone call”, sources said.

She was also in touch with ISI operative Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, who worked as a visa officer in the Pakistani embassy in Delhi. Danish was expelled from India in May, after Jyoti Malhotra was exposed.

While there is neither any system to send tourists from India to Pakistan nor any process to issue tourist visas to Indian citizens, the Pakistani High Commission had been issuing visitor visas on the recommendation and sponsorship of ‘Madam N’.Her connection with the Pakistani Army and the ISI can also be understood from the fact that her company is the only agency that organises Sikh and Hindu pilgrimage to Pakistan, which works in collaboration with the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

On the side, Ms Shehzad charged a huge amount of money from Indian pilgrims and used the funds for promoting Pakistani propaganda, sources said. She recently appointed some travel agents in Delhi and other cities, who are now promoting her company on social media.
